StoneAgez began with questions.

Having autism within our own family encouraged us to look more closely at nutrition, individual nutritional needs, ingredient quality and the different forms of vitamins and minerals we consume.

But the more we learned, the more questions we asked.

Why can someone be low in a particular nutrient? Why do different nutrients work together? Does the form of a vitamin or mineral matter? And should the answer always be to simply add more of whatever appears to be low?

That thinking became the foundation of StoneAgez.

LOOK BEYOND THE DEFICIENCY

We believe nutrition should be looked at as a bigger picture, rather than one nutrient at a time.

Take iron as an example.

If someone has low iron, the obvious response may be to simply add more iron. But iron doesn't work in isolation.

Copper contributes to normal iron transport in the body. Vitamin C increases the absorption of non-haem iron. Folate and vitamin B12 also have important roles in normal blood formation.

That doesn't mean one nutrient explains every deficiency. There can be many reasons why nutrient levels are low.

But it demonstrates something important:

Nutrients work together.

That is why at StoneAgez we want to ask more than simply:

“What are you low in?”

We also want to understand:

“Why might it be low, what other nutrients are involved, and how does it fit into the wider nutritional picture?”

WHY FORM MATTERS

The amount of a nutrient on the front of a bottle isn't the only thing we consider.

The form matters too.

That is why our range includes carefully selected forms such as L-5-MTHF active folate, methylcobalamin B12 and bisglycinate forms of minerals including magnesium, zinc and copper.

Our aim is simple: understand the ingredient first, then build the product around that understanding.
